The NBVC was founded during the late spring of 2000. The founder of the club is Stephen Mitchell. Stephen, or "Mitch" as many folks know him, started his volleyball career by playing for Massachusetts' most dominating high school volleyball team...

Mitch captained the 1989 squad which helped capture the "Whaler's" first State Championship.
Mitch pursued his volleyball career in the early 1990's playing for both the Roger Williams College Hawks and the Springfield College Indians. During his career, Mitch played in two NCAA Division I tournaments with teams ranked in the top 20 in the nation!
The NBVC was formed to help foster the continued growth of volleyball at all levels, and provide support for local volleyball players in the SouthCoast area.
The New Bedford Volleyball Club Team ( N.B.V.C )
The club team is comprised of the best local players who compete in Yankee tournaments throughout the Fall, Winter and Early Spring.
Players each earn a individual rating. Player ratings typically Range from A through D. The club team travels throughout the state for weekend tournaments and competes against other top level club teams.
